Airport Duty Manager

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Duty Manager to join our team. As a key member of our airport operations team, you will be responsible for managing airport-wide day-of operations, short to mid-term priorities, and ensuring the smooth flow of aircraft, vehicle traffic, passengers, baggage, and cargo.
Key Responsibilities- Manage airport-wide day-of operations, including airside, air passenger terminal, groundside operations, and cargo/freight operations.
- Develop and implement operational plans to ensure effective resumption of normal operations in the event of disruptions.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including airlines, ground handlers, government agencies, and other airport partners to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor airport operations to identify gaps or challenges and advise management accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with all regulated and airport standards.
- Proactively plan for and communicate operational continuity procedures caused by weather, power outages, or other operational variables.
- Manage and facilitate debriefs of emergency and/or irregular events and ensure action items are followed up on by assigned leads.
- Contribute to cost-effective airport management by ensuring effective triage of incoming calls and dispatching accurate resources.
- Control costs through effective leadership of all partners to ensure day-of flow is maximized and service delivery failures are mitigated.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Aviation Management, Business Management, or Logistics.
- 8 years' experience in an airport environment or similar with demonstrated experience in serving a large and complex customer base.
- 8 years' leadership experience with people management experience, preferable in a matrix organization, with exposure to various operational functions.
- Demonstrated experience working in a customer-centric environment.
- Ability to obtain and retain a D AVOP within ninety (90) days of commencing the position.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance.
