About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ORAT Program Director to lead the operational readiness, activation, and transition program for a major airport development project in Toronto, Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the ORAT program, aligning with the airport's development program and day 1 operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Delivery: Successfully deliver the ORAT program, ensuring all aspects of airport operations and stakeholder preparedness.
  • Strategic Planning: Set the strategy for the ORAT program, establishing key milestones and ensuring alignment with day 1 operational requirements.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Direct the ORAT program, providing strong leadership to ORAT functional leads and subject matter experts (SMEs), ensuring cohesive and effective team performance.
  • Dependency and Milestone Management: Identify dependencies and key review milestones aligned with the ORAT countdown to the airport opening, ensuring all critical elements are addressed.
  • Coordination and Communication: Develop the ORAT countdown and dependencies in collaboration with workstream leads and primary stakeholders, ensuring a coordinated approach to opening.
  • Risk Management and Reporting: Manage the resolution of all ORAT SPOC (single point of contact) conflicts, escalating any threats to the ORAT steering committee/airport executive management team.
  • Operational Risk Reporting: Report key operational risks to the airport executive management team/ORAT steering committee, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of risks.
  • Workstream Plan Oversight: Review, amend, and approve the facility, people, systems, and process workstream plans, ensuring they meet the ORAT program's requirements and objectives.
  • Staff Development: Coach, mentor, and support the career development of staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring a high level of competency within the team.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programs in the transportation sector.
  • Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
  • Experience working in the aviation infrastructure sector.
  • Experience in a senior project level position.
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent industry qualification or chartership.
  • Previous experience working with the GTAA (Greater Toronto Airports Authority) or equivalent.
  • Industry qualification or chartership e.g. PgMP, PMI, CMI, DBIA.
