The Role:
The Construction Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all on-site activities related to construction for designated projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of construction materials, methods, and equipment. Key responsibilities include managing project budgets, developing schedules in collaboration with the Vice President of Construction, and ensuring compliance with safety and building codes. The Site Manager will also coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely project completion.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in interpreting construction plans and specifications, with a solid understanding of commercial construction practices.
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules effectively.
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Experience in evaluating construction documents for feasibility.
- Leadership capabilities to guide project teams and ensure quality control.
- Familiarity with project management software, including Microsoft Project and ProCore.
- General carpentry skills and knowledge of installation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all construction-related activities on-site, including subcontractor management.
- Schedule and coordinate inspections with relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Document subcontractor work and assist with payment requisitions.
- Manage the delivery and sequencing of materials and project tasks.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain effective communication with project teams and clients.
- Document project progress and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Lead the project team to ensure successful project outcomes.
Expectations:
- Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
- Ability to work extended hours when required.
- Maintain a proactive and positive attitude.
- Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management.
- A degree in a construction-related field is preferred.
- Additional certifications, such as LEED AP, are advantageous.
