Position Overview

The Claims Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting members and stakeholders during the claims journey by delivering outstanding service and understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to members throughout the claims process, ensuring a compassionate and professional experience.
  • Engage proactively with clients through various communication channels, including voice, digital, and written formats, to facilitate the effective management of inquiries.
  • Analyze claims and interpret policy details to assess coverage, clearly communicating outcomes to members.
  • Gather and evaluate information from various sources such as estimators, loss adjusters, contractors, and repair facilities to accurately assess losses.
  • Coordinate with external service providers, including estimators, rental agencies, and repair shops, to streamline services.
  • Maintain an organized scheduling system and meticulously document claim activities in accordance with established protocols.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated customer service abilities, emphasizing empathy and a commitment to member satisfaction.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a customer service role.
  • A post-secondary degree is an asset.
  • Strong investigative and analytical capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
