St. NW #209, Edmonton, AB T5S 1R5Work location: Same as aboveType of Employment: Full time – PermanentEstimated Start Date: As soon as possibleJob Description:Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipmentEvaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system softwareOperate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to co-ordinate access and use of computer networksProvide problem-solving services to network usersImplement data, software and hardware security proceduresPerform routine network start up and close down and maintain control recordsPerform data backups and disaster recovery operationsInstall, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade Web-server hardware and softwareSet up local area networks and connections to the InternetImplement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performancePerform Web-server backup and recovery operationsSupervise technical staffProvide advanced troubleshooting for all types of technical inquiries, service requests, and issues involving computers, networks, smartphones/tablets, enterprise applications/systemsContribute to team innovation through ideas for process improvement and efficiencyDevelop, implement, and/or participate in the preparation knowledge base articles and/or documentation for Service Desk use; make recommendations for improvementsDocument all problems and solutions in the Service Desk Ticketing SystemBuild relationships with customersParticipate in a rotating on-call scheduleComplete company’s trainings and certifications as requiredWork with vendors to complete service requestsWork with UTM/Firewalls: Fortinet and SophosRecommend, schedule, and perform network/systems improvementsCreate architecture and solution designs with the latest technologies in the areas of: Advanced Networking, SaaS, IaaS (Azure), VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Storage and BackupPerform Quality Assurance on Pre-Sales team architectureRequirements:- Education: Completion of a college or other program in computer science, network administration, web technology or a related field is required.- Experience: At least two years of experience in the computer network field is required.- Strong analytical and customer service skills.- Knowledge/Ability of Cloud Solutions (365 Exchange, Azure, SharePoint, OneDrive) is required.- Knowledge/Ability in Network Technology (Firewalls, Switches, Access Points) is required.- Computer and technology knowledge: Virtualization, Device drivers, Networking software, Extranet, Intranet, Servers, Desktop applications, Enterprise Applications Integration (EAI), File management software, Security software, Multimedia software, Presentation software, Mail server software, Communication software, Business diagram software, Desktop publishing software, Database software, Data analysis software, MS Windows, and Spreadsheet- Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Sitting- Personal suitability: Organized, Client focus, Efficient interpersonal skills, Team player, Excellent written and oral communication, Accurate, Initiative, Judgment- Language: English is requiredSalary: $35.46 hourly, 37.5 hours per week.Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision benefits provided.
