Job Title: Coordinator of Retention (Sophomore) Boost and PLTL/Academic Advisor/Success Specialist

The Coordinator of Retention (Sophomore) Boost/PLTL/Academic Advisor/Success Specialist position will aid in the coordination and support of the center's operations pertaining to the academic success of and retention efforts for a diverse range of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide an environment conducive to academic success.
  • Collaborate with faculty to implement student retention and success efforts, including early alert initiatives and monitoring of academic progress.
  • Advise and register students for classes.
  • Coordinate workshops to inform students of strategies for academic success.
  • Manage the Retention (Sophomore) Boost program focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity.
  • Serve as the PLTL coordinator for the math initiative, including hiring and training Peer Coaches.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
  • Experience/training in one or more of the following areas is required: education, teaching, academic advising.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a university setting is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines are essential.
  • Must be team-oriented and willing to serve on committees within the university.
