Job Summary:

The Program Facilitator works as a collaborative member of a team to assist young autistic adults to learn new skills and participate in the community. The Program Facilitator supports the development and implementation of programming, learning modules and support plans in line with established curriculum to increase the independence of Autistic adults.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Responsibilities:

- Work with Autistic adults in the Centre and in community settings including community apartments.
- Within the scope of practice, support the development and implementation of curriculum for all participants under the direction of the Program Coordinator.
- Create teaching plans and learning modules for assigned participants under the direction of the Program Coordinator.
- Collect data, and complete daily notes using an internal tracking system.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Quest for Independence program.
- Prepare instructional materials as needed.
- Collaboratively prepare and plan activities daily.
- Provide administrative support as requested by the Program Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field or similar combined education and experience.
- 1 year of experience working with autistic individuals.
- Familiarity with and ability to implement adult learning principles.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong desire to work with adults with autism and their support systems.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Participate in ongoing training.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
- Clear Police Information check, Clean Intervention Record check and valid First Aid with CPR.
