The Family Centre is seeking an experienced Family Engagement Facilitator for a temporary contract ending on August 9, 2025. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to establish good working relationships with clients, and excellent organizational skills. In this role, you will facilitate collaborative processes that bring families together with kin, close friends, and community members to support children or youth requiring intervention services. Your efforts will ensure the organization builds on the strengths of the family system.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Family Engagement Services, the Family Engagement Facilitator is dedicated to delivering high-quality Family Group Conferences, Family Support Circles, ceremonies, and intensive family searches. The outcomes of these interventions include identifying potential placements, expanding support networks, and increasing extended family and community involvement. All children and youth in care should be referred to Family Engagement Services to explore extended and kin support options.

You take pride in your proficient oral and written communication skills, as well as your ability to establish clear boundaries and be sensitive to the individual needs of each family. You are dedicated to problem-solving with a non-confrontational approach. You demonstrate exceptional understanding of the meaning in teachings and values embedded in ceremony, circle processes, and relational accountability, and bring a commitment to allyship with equity-seeking communities. You value the importance of clear communication and cultural sensitivity. You can work independently and take initiative, and you possess advanced organizational and time management skills.

- Receive referrals and facilitate high-quality Family Group Conferences and Family Circles
- Provide trauma-informed care and support to children, youth, and families
- Conduct intensive Family Searches to expand support networks and locate potential placement
- Work collaboratively with children, youth, families, agency staff, community members, Children and Family Services, Indigenous communities, and bands to support families
- Contribute to research and evaluation efforts to measure the effectiveness of circle processes
- Maintain a focus on general wellbeing, trauma, and attachment, and assist families in connecting to their culture, community, and ceremonies
- Complete administrative responsibilities and attend required meetings and trainings

What you will bring to the role:

- Diploma or degree in a human services field, with relevant experience
- Experience working with Children and Family Services and collaborative service delivery is beneficial
- Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively work with individuals affected by trauma
- Proficiency in delivering trauma-informed care

Background Check Process & Requirements:

- As a part of the selection process, The Family Centre will conduct reference checks with your most recent employers
- Police Information Check - Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months)
- Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- Registration with a professional body, if applicable (such as RSW)
- $2 million Vehicle Liability Insurance
- Reliable Vehicle, available for regular use and valid driver's license
- 5-year Driver Abstract
- Our Children Are Sacred Youth Suicide Prevention Training or ASIST Suicide Intervention Training (within 3 months of start date)
- Standard First Aid Level C CPR (within 3 months of start date)

Compensation - Our comprehensive compensation package offered to employees reflects a strong commitment to employee wellbeing and is competitive within the marketplace.

- $48,168 to $62,074 annually
- 36.5-hour work week (evening and weekend availability required)
