Job Summary
The Program Facilitator plays a vital role in assisting young autistic adults to develop new skills and participate in their communities. This position requires collaboration with a team to design and implement programs, learning modules, and support plans that promote independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist autistic adults in various settings, including community apartments
- Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to develop curriculum and learning materials
- Create teaching plans and learning modules for assigned participants
- Collect data and maintain accurate records using an internal tracking system
- Contribute to the development of the Quest for Independence program
- Prepare instructional materials as needed
- Plan activities daily and work collaboratively with colleagues
- Provide administrative support as requested by the Program Coordinator
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1 year of experience working with autistic individuals
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and ability to implement them
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Desire to work with adults with autism and their support systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Participate in ongoing training
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- Adaptability and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Access to a reliable vehicle (required)
- Clear Police Information check, Clean Intervention Record check, and valid First Aid with CPR certification (required)
