Facilitating Independence for Adults with Autism

The Program Facilitator works closely with a team to facilitate the development of life skills and social interaction among young autistic adults. This position involves creating and implementing individualized programs, learning modules, and support plans to enhance independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with autistic adults in various settings, including community apartments
- Develop and implement curriculum and learning materials under the direction of the Program Coordinator
- Design teaching plans and learning modules for assigned participants
- Maintain accurate records using an internal tracking system
- Contribute to the growth of the Quest for Independence program
- Prepare instructional materials as needed
- Plan activities daily and collaborate with colleagues
- Provide administrative support as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1 year of experience working with autistic individuals
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and ability to apply them
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Desire to work with adults with autism and their support systems
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ongoing participation in professional development
- Dependability with a strong work ethic
- Adaptability and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Reliable access to transportation (required)
- Clear Police Information check, Clean Intervention Record check, and valid First Aid with CPR certification (required)
