Finance Manager

Some of what you will do: The primary responsibility of this role is to partner with the business and external business partners to launch projects and initiatives, and establish processes and procedures for accurate, complete and timely reporting. This involves working with the business to understand scope, changes required from both operations and finance standpoints and to work with IT to implement changes across the organization. This role will also work closely with cross functional teams to determine solutions to issues in current processes and procedures.
Specifically, You Will:
- Partner with the business to assess projects and initiatives, collaborate with cross functional teams to gather information, and provide a point of view on the financial implications
- Act as a finance subject matter expert for recurring and subscription revenue projects and initiatives
- Develop and review KPIs, analyses, reconciliations and reporting for partnerships (such as Bell and Allstate) and other projects and initiatives. Partner with the business, IT and other Finance areas in the design
- Evaluate third-party reports from external business partners, such as Bell and Allstate, and the business to validate accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with external business partners to resolve and validate issues and solutions
- Partner with the business, IT and other Finance areas to develop and improve processes and procedures and implement solutions across the organization
- Lead the execution and implementation/transition/enhancement of projects in accordance with IFRS and company policies
- Participate as the Finance Lead in the implementation of systems and solutions with financial implications
- Cultivate a continuous improvement mindset within the finance team
- Other projects and ad hoc requests as required
Some of What You Need:
- University degree or equivalent in accounting, business, finance or a related field
- CPA designation required
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of IFRS
- Resourceful and strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with external and internal (members of the finance team and the business) stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail
- Independent while collaborative and a strong team player
- Takes ownership and initiative
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Results oriented and the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Ability to work with a positive attitude and in a professional manner
- Enjoy working in a fast paced, changing environment
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- ERP Oracle experience is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Experience with revenue assurance, or revenue and profitability analytics
- Experience in the telecom or software industries is an asset
- Public company reporting experience
