Current Opportunity: EAP Clinical Counsellor

Location: Toronto

Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid or remote depending on your proximity to our Toronto office

Part-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 4:30pm
Salary 30 hours per week: $28.84 per hour
Years of experience: Minimum of 2 years of direct counselling experience

What you will do:

Our EAP Counsellors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email all while demonstrating what we call: The Power of a Good Conversation – creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for.

It's difficult to describe an average day for our counsellors, as each caller presents with a unique set of challenges, and it would be from your clinical conversation that would help each person navigate a way forward. Responsibilities:

- Provide single session telephonic and video counselling, in-the-moment support, and crisis telephonic management in a supportive, ethical, and professional manner while maintaining client confidentiality.
- Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling.
- Assess and manage high-risk calls and work closely with individuals at risk.
- Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.
- Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
- Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in the case management system.
- Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.

Coach Qualifications: Well-Being Coaches will be mental health professionals with appropriate training, clinical experience, and professional accreditations/memberships, and will:

1. Be educated to at least Masters Level in any of the following disciplines:

1. Clinical, Counselling or Health Psychology
2. Therapeutic Counselling
3. Psychotherapy
4. Clinical Social Work

3. Have completed at least three (3) years post-graduate client/patient facing clinical experience (inclusive of supervised practice completed as part of training) during which they provided 1:1 care and designed and delivered group-based interventions.
4. Hold accreditation/registration/practitioner status with:

1. The State or Governmental agency with responsibility for regulating the practice of:

1. Clinical, Counselling or Health Psychology
2. Therapeutic Counselling
3. Psychotherapy
4. Clinical Social Work

6. Complete the continuous professional development necessary to maintain good standing within their professional society/body.
