The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority is seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinical Team Lead to join their Outpatient Mental Health Service team.

About the Role

This leadership position plays a vital role in ensuring the welfare of clients is protected through the integrity of clinical services. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring and coaching supervisees, promoting self-motivation, learning, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high standards of practice and ensure consistent application of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor counsellors to guarantee client needs are met, and documentation meets requirements.
  • Ensure timely response and thorough documentation for high-risk cases.
  • Conduct weekly individual supervision meetings and enter clinical direction into electronic records.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, youth, adults, and families, as well as complex cases, concurrent disorders, trauma, and high-risk behaviors. They should possess excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements
  • University degree in a core mental health discipline (social work, psychology).
  • Minimum 5 years of mental health counselling experience.
  • Registered with a related professional body in Ontario.
  • Experience working with First Nations people and in northern communities an asset.
