Area Sales Manager

- Responsible for the sales results from their assigned market and/or defined geographic area and to secure new and increased business to meet established sales budget targets
- Generate sales and provide solutions to customers
- Demonstration of products to prospective customers
- Presentations to individuals or groups on company products and technology
- Sharing of project information and marketing intelligence with colleagues
- Complete and submit sales reports as required
- Act as a liaison with inside sales and technical for any customer-related issues as needed
- Stay up to date with any information concerning fluctuations in competitors and market performance
- Prepare and present business reviews for forecasted sales to target as required
- Prepare expense reports on a timely basis and submit to accounting
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes

Education:
- High school diploma
- Post-secondary technical education, preferably in instrument, process control, or electronics
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial sales experience is an asset
- Product knowledge is an asset
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of SAP is helpful but not required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is helpful but not required
Skills:
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
- Day-to-day work activities are prioritized appropriately within work routines
- Excellent decision-making, organization, time-management, administrative, and computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
- Able to work closely with team members
- Attention to detail and a strong customer service focus
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- A valid driver’s license
- English, German, and French are helpful but not required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standing, sitting, typing, answering phones in an office work environment with travel as required.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
HOURS OF WORK: Office hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a 37.5 hour work week. Additional hours may be required.
