Summary:
The Regional Business Development Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Sales, Canada, and play a pivotal role in driving Mircom's business development strategy within the specified regions. This individual will identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, forging lasting relationships with key stakeholders, and fostering a network of loyal partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the company's growth strategy by maintaining strong partnerships with Engineered Systems Distributors (ESDs), collaborating with local consulting firms, and engaging with electrical contractors to drive sales and business expansion. The Regional Business Development Manager will oversee the following provinces: Alberta (Edmonton), Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Residence within any of these three provinces is preferred for optimal market engagement and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute Mircom's strategic plans, while upholding Mircom's values at all times.
2. Meet or exceed the territory's revenue and customer targets.
3. Increase market share by seeking out new relationships through sales events, referrals, industry contacts, warm/cold face-to-face sales calls, collaboration with other team members on sales strategies and developing plans to convert potential customers.
4. Maintain current relationships by supporting/recommending customer service efforts, conducting follow up calls, profiling dealers, educating customers, engineers and keeping abreast of new developments in the industry.
5. Proactively drive market intelligence gathering, uncover opportunities in growth verticals, and deliver sales wins in these growth areas.
6. Assist in implementing training in technology, products, sales skills, project registration and other efforts.
7. Participate in industry events including trade shows/association programs.
Requirements and Skills:
1. 1 to 3 years Sales Management Experience.
2. 2+ years of experience in the Fire/Security or similar industry; strong knowledge of Canadian fire alarm and its current codes.
3. Self-motivator with proven organizational track record.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
5. Strong knowledge of PC based applications (Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel).
6. Working knowledge of CRM software would be an asset.
7. Possess a current valid driver's license.
8. Hold a CFAA certification is a bonus.
9. Technically proficient to review/discuss project plans.
10. Willingness to travel within the territory, including some overnight and air travel.
11. Residence in Alberta or Saskatchewan or Manitoba is preferred.
