Working as part of Young People Cornwall’s Hear Our Voice mental health project we arelooking for an experienced and enthusiastic worker to provide high quality 1 to 1 and group work support. You will be working with young people in Cornwall aged 11–25yrs, who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health and emotional well-being.

This post is predominately based within a range of FE/HE colleges and Young People Cornwall’s community based support hub settings. Using a youth work approach, alongside evidence-based early interventions for mental health and wellbeing, the post-holder will provide a flexible, accessible, inclusive and young-person centred service, working collaboratively with young people, parents/carers and multi-agency partners to meet individual needs and support young people to achieve their personal goals and outcomes.

Groups facilitation will use a creative informal education/youth work approach to develop and deliver a programme to young people up to 25yrs, based on emotional resilience and mental health awareness, to provide early support around concerns including – anxiety, low mood, stress, self-harm and risk taking, low self-esteem, communication and relationship difficulties and bullying.

The post holders will be required to support Youth Work teams across Young People Cornwall, including support hubs and 1-2 weekly group open-access youth work sessions.

All successful post holders will be required to work on shared initiatives within Young People Cornwall and to contribute to the wider Youth Work delivery team. This means reporting against a number of targets, and may on occasion require working evenings or weekends.

A valid UK driving licence is essential for these posts.
