Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO)
The Municipality of Souris-Glenwood is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (ACAO). This is a full-time position with duties commencing as soon as possible.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the ACAO supports day-to-day municipal operations and provides guidance and oversight when required.
- Coordinating financial processes and ensuring accuracy in payroll and benefits
- Maintaining water utility records and property tax accounts
- Preparing agendas and minutes; attending council meetings when required
- Applying for grants and supporting program implementation approved by Council
- Offering direction and advice to administrative and management teams in the absence of the CAO
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong financial and accounting knowledge, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a municipal office or equivalent
- CMMA designation or equivalent, or willingness to enroll in the program
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work independently
