Quebec, Canada Manulife Financial Full time

At Manulife, underwriting is more than assessing risk—it’s about helping Canadians access the health and dental coverage they need to live well. As part of our dynamic Affinity Markets Underwriting Team, you’ll join a collaborative environment where learning is continuous, mentorship is embedded, and your work makes a real difference.

As our business expands, we’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Health and Dental and Life Underwriter to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their underwriting career to gain hands‑on experience, learn from seasoned professionals, and contribute to meaningful work that supports Canadians’ health and well‑being.

This is a remote opportunity open to candidates across Canada.

Position Responsibilities

- Review and assess applications for health and dental insurance in accordance with Manulife’s underwriting guidelines and risk philosophy.

- Collaborate with senior underwriters to ensure sound risk decisions and continuous learning.

- Provide responsive and professional service to internal partners and external clients.

- Ensure underwriting decisions comply with regulatory requirements and privacy standards.

- Stay current on medical and dental trends, treatment protocols, and underwriting best practices.

- Contribute to a positive team culture and help achieve departmental goals.

Required Qualifications

- 1–3 years of experience in health and/or dental insurance underwriting (or relevant education in medical, dental, or insurance fields).

- Basic understanding of medical and dental terminology, anatomy, and treatment procedures.

- Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

- Interest in pursuing industry designations (e.g., LOMA, ALU, FLMI).

- Fully bilingual (French/English): The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

When you join our team

- We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.

- We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well‑being and inclusion are more than just words.

- As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.
