**The Opportunity
**Manulife Bank & Trust’s Mortgage Underwriting department is looking for a Bilingual Mortgage Underwriter to join the team You must be based out of Quebec or Halifax. Opportunity for cross training within the mortgage residential team.

**Responsibilities**
- Review documents submitted by sales partners to identify and decision whether documents adhere to internal guidelines.
- Ensure files are properly documented for reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with our sales partners.
- Ability to process a high work volume of files with attention to detail.

You will be reporting to The Regional Manager of Quebec/East Residential mortgage origination. Your expertise will contribute to our goal making Manulife Bank competitive in the industry by providing the best service in the industry.

**What we are looking for**
- Two years’ experience in the financial industry.
- Mortgage underwriting knowledge is a requirement.
- Strong attention to details.
- A goal oriented individual motivated to achieve performance goals.
- Strong customer service and decisioning skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and handle several tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of banking systems.
- Identify and solve issues requiring a high degree of judgment and recommend solutions.Overtime during peak season is a requirement.
