Manulife's individual underwriting team is looking for creative, passionate, customer satisfaction and creative individuals to join our world-class underwriting team.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct risk assessment and classification in accordance with Manulife's philosophy and standards.
- Communicate and collaborate with sales colleagues and head office to provide the highest quality and competitive decisions to our clients.
- Maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external partners
- Consistently deliver the best customer experience by making every interaction meaningful
- Comply with consumer laws and regulations regarding risk classification, confidentiality and disclosure
- Identify and propose solutions to problems and procedures related to the underwriter's work
- Promote an atmosphere of trust with all clients in order to facilitate the acceptance of decisions

The Individual Life Underwriter has the privilege of working with a variety of distribution channels, including National Accounts, General Agents and Advisors.

**What we are looking for**
- Fully bilingual (French & English)
- A university or college degree in a related discipline is considered an asset
- You are continuously learning - currently enrolled or very interested in insurance-related courses such as LOMA and/or ALU courses
- Demonstrated professional experience as underwriter, at least 5 years of experience
- Approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance and $250,000 in critical illness insurance
- Be on the lookout for trends and changes in medicine, knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, diseases, tests and modes of treatment
- General awareness of current events, industry issues and trends
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to define, research and solve problems
- Excellent mentoring skills
- Exemplary customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
