NNCEA is seeing a dedicated professional for the position of Assistant Resource Developer. This role is essential in support the development and improvement of Nihitho language and culture resources across our K-12 classrooms. This position reports and works closely with the Nihitho Language Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the development, revision, implementation, and ongoing improvement of Cree language and culture resources for our K-12 classrooms.

- Review and evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of Nihitho language, history, and cultural content included in instructional materials and programming.

- Work closely with the Nihitho Language Coordinator and Language and Culture department to ensure resources align with curriculum goals and community values.

- Organize, catalogue, and maintain language and culture resources to ensure they are accessible to educators.

- Identify gaps or areas of need in existing Nihitho resources and make recommendations for development or acquisition.

- Conduct research to locate, evaluate, and recommend resources related to Nihitho language, history, and culture.

- Support the Nihitho Language Coordinator in planning and delivering engagement sessions, workshops, or training to promote resources.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Indigenous Studies, or equivalent.

- Manitoba Teacher certificate preferred but not required.

- Ability to read, write, and speak the Nihitho language accurately and fluently.

- Strong understanding of Nihitho culture and history.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
