**You are**
A_ _**_Coordinator, Employment Services_**. You are responsible for providing support to all positions that fall within the Employment services Unit (EPC/NES/). The Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Manager in setting departmental goals and service standards for the Employment Programs. The Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring that the administrative and funding requirements for this Unit are being met.
**This is an 18-month term position.**
**Your Role**
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Employment Services to ensure that a quality service is being provided to participants, referring agents and employers. Ensures that employees within Employment Services follow the policies and procedures as outlined in the VR Operating Manual and/or service agreements and provides direction and interpretation to staff, as required.
- Responsible for ensuring that the administrative and funding requirements inherent to the ongoing operation of Employment Services are being met, including monitoring of funding requests, service outcomes, and identifying any areas falling short of targets and recommending possible solutions to Program Manager.
- Coordinates the provision of support services to participants and employers through assignment of department resources.
- Complies with privacy and confidentiality as outlined in agency, provincial and federal policies and/or guidelines.
- Reviews and monitors the file management system of Employment Services to ensure that there is a method of tracking the progress of each participant’s towards achieving the identified employment goal.
- Acts as the focal liaison within Employment Services with referring agents.
- Provides direction and support to other staff of Employment Services (EDS, EF, EFII and SJC), as needed.
- Provides employment services to participants, if warranted.
- Handles all new referrals to the Employment Services, which includes making decisions on all referrals re: services provision, caseload assignment and managing potential waitlists.
- Consults with referring agents on new and/or potential referrals to Employment Services and solicits referrals when warranted.
- Maintains up-to-date labour market information which includes a list of employer contacts.
- Attends and participates in regularly scheduled Program meetings.
- Participates on community-based Employment Services Committees to address issues related to employment services and accommodation needs of persons with disabilities.
- Participates in regular supervision/consultation with the Program Manager, to discuss new referrals, program enhancements and provide updates on participants open to Employment Services.
- Adhere to all Manitoba Possible policies and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned that fall within the scope of the position.
**What You Know**
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline with 3-4 years of work experience in the area of direct delivery of employments services.
- Thorough knowledge of the Vocational Rehabilitation Operating Manual, specifically, in the area of employment services.
- Experience supervising job coaches/employment facilitators.
- Experience in the area of job development.
- Knowledge of disabilities and associated functional limitations.
- Awareness of job accommodations.
- Understanding of current legislation, i.e Labour Standards Act, Human Rights Canada Manitoba, Canada Employment, and Employment Equity.
- Extensive knowledge of employment market conditions, i.e labour market trends and implications for employment opportunities.
- Experience in resume development and e-profiling, is required.
- Knowledge of job search techniques and strategies is needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in interviewing and employment counseling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle, is required.
- Knowledge of ASL is an asset.
