**Coast Mental Health** and **YWCA Metro Vancouver** have entered into a partnership to deliver an employment program designed to serve individuals who self-identify with experiencing mental health barriers.

Coast Mental Health and YWCA Metro Vancouver operates on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of Indigenous people across British Columbia. In particular, Coast Mental Health head office is located on the Coast Salish territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. The YWCA Metro Vancouver operates on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples - sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations, as well as the Semiahmoo, Stó:lō, Kwantlen, Katzie and Kwikwetlem First Nations.

**Coast Mental Health (Coast)** is one of the largest mental health non-profit societies in Canada, and operates a large array of innovative housing and community-based rehabilitation services for people with a mental illness living in and around Vancouver. Coast fosters a client-driven, recovery-oriented environment that promotes restoring health, personal growth and a return to society for individuals with a mental illness through advocacy and providing direct programs and services.
**YWCA Metro Vancouver**, is a diversified non-profit. Our vision: We boldly envision a just and equitable world for women, families, and allies. Mission: We advance gender equity alongside women, families, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse people through advocacy and integrated services that help support personal, collective, and economic well-being.
- Scope:_ The Employment Group Facilitator is responsible for leading employment and mental wellness workshops as well as providing one-to-one support with career goal planning, career exploration, and job search. This role requires networking with appropriate agencies and working closely with vocational rehabilitation services to help clients with work placement.
**Education and Experience**:

- Diploma in Social Services, plus 2 years of work experience in social, health or related field
- 2 years of experience in vocational counselling and group facilitation
- The ability to work with people with a mental illness and build/maintain rapport
- Experience working with psychiatric population is an asset
- Knowledge of latest job search, career exploration, and labour market practices
- Knowledge of vocational, housing, mental health, and addictions issues and connections to relevant community resources
- The ability to build and deliver a training curriculum
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- The ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
- The ability to organize and prioritize

**Requirements**:

- The ability to work in person and virtually as required to deliver the program
- The ability to handle confidential/sensitive information appropriately
- Commitment to a high standard of service and an atmosphere of respect and dignity in all aspects of the program
- Successful applicants are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, exemption requests must be supported by valid, legal documents.
- Ability to provide/obtain the following upon hire:

- Certificates in First Aid + CPR, WHMIS, FoodSafe
- Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance (including working with vulnerable populations)

**Start Date**:Position available as soon as possible with an end date of March 31, 2023 with the opportunity for extension contingent on funding. If funding is not granted, employee may choose to transition into a different position within Coast Mental Health.
