**DOCUMENT CONTROL COORDINATOR**

**About the role**

The safety, environmental compliance, security and productivity of Stelco’s operations are directly dependent on our ability to maintain a database of approximately 700,000 engineering documents. Without accurate maintenance of these materials, the functions of engineering and mill maintenance would be severely handicapped, if not impossible.

Coordinator’s are responsible for the maintenance of 580,000 engineering drawings (HW + LEW), over 30,000 LEW Bills of Material and 5,000 LEW Equipment and Operating Manuals. Further, they are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and Capital Project process documents, including the commercial correspondence that enables us to ensure that all purported liabilities are indeed legitimate. These numbers are constantly growing as documents are continually revised, and supplemented, by in-house staff, consultants, contractors and manufacturers. All documents must be properly identified, coded, approved, scanned and stored for timely retrieval.

**Your day-to-day**:

- CS20 (580,000+) Drawing Record System - includes drawing review, updates, drawing system creation or modification, scanning and ongoing process, maintenance and long-term storage. See detailed skill set requirements below.
- CS20 System Management - work with ITA and Outside Consultants Supai and Open Text to ensure system updates and licensing are carried out under our business rules. Troubleshoot, evaluate, regression testing and tracking including upgrades to the system.
- Electronic file system, including contracts, cranes, design calculations, engineering/project reports, manuals and process files
- Vendor Package Compilation (includes electronic drawing packages provided to vendors both day to day and on major projects)
- Major Project Document Control - tracking
- Plant Mill Requests - i.e. drawing prints - manual and process files, etc. Provide all documentation required to operate/repair new and improved equipment
- Document Retrieval System Plant Manual Systems - includes vendor interaction, cataloguing, Plant Specification Records ProjectExpediting/Inspection Q/A Document Control
- Request for Engineering Services Process - includes follow up on requests, proposals, approvals, requisition requests, purchase orders and monthly reports
- Request for Drawing Modification Process (work with Mills to process red-line mark ups as provided by the field contacts)
- Maintain Ministry Safety and Environmental documents such as PHSR’s, Plant Inspections, Reg 51, Plant Lifting Device Examination Reports, Hoist Failures
- Oracle Requisitioning, including Punch Outs
- Stationery - including control of Plant Wide Forms
- Scanning - BOM’s, Manuals, Drawings, Process Files, etc.
- Engineering Library Records
- Office Equipment - trouble shoot - maintain upgrades

**What you bring to the table**

**Job Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years’ minimum experience in Document Control and Records Management
- A valid G or G2 drivers license and vehicle is required

**Job Skills and Knowledge**:

- Must possess in depth knowledge of Document Control Systems, including the functional requirements (both historical and current) of the document routing workflows, which utilize a mill-specific Facility Code System
- Must be experienced in the use of document Categories, Attributes, Aliases, Cross Indexing, Crane and Mobile Equipment Components and Codes, as well as Major Supplier Indexing methods, to ensure that documents are properly coded for future retrieval from Content Server 10 (cs-10). They must be thoroughly familiar with the VaultLoader Systems including creating, revising, modifying and the removal of the documents
- Must possess advanced knowledge of Open Text CS-10 Systems and LiveLink AMS D & D, to work directly with our Open Text support group - Supai Systems - troubleshooting unresolved defects and identifying problems. Further, they are required to perform Regression Testing and tracking protocols on installed fixes
