**Who we are**:
The Multi-Service Centre (MSC) is a non-profit organization serving the tri-counties area of Oxford, Elgin and Norfolk and focusing on delivering essential services to our community. Staff and management provide high quality, client driven care programs including Adult Literacy & Essential Skills, Employment Programs and Home Support services

**Who we are looking for**:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys seeing the positive impact of their work within their community. As an Employment Initiatives Coordinator you will be part of a diverse and forward-thinking Employment Services (ES) team who provides exceptional employment services to the tri-counties area of Oxford, Elgin, and Norfolk

**This is a summer contract position which is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. This grant assists youth (between 15 and 30 years of age) looking for summer employment. This position is 35 hours per week with an hourly rate of $18.50/hr.**

**As an Employment Initiatives Coordinator at the MSC you will**:

- Provide a positive and professional image optimizing service delivery satisfaction.
- Greet and assist clients in accessing resources available
- Complete skills assessments with clients to identify barriers and determine career interests, aptitudes and abilities.
- Assist clients with establishing strong job seeking skills, resume writing, positive attitudes and interview readiness
- Provide instruction regarding current job searching processes, resources and technology.
- Identify suitable employment opportunities for clients, providing support and guidance.
- Supply information on other agencies and services
- Collect local summer student job postings/openings and post to local job boards
- Initiate contacts with employers and other community agencies to develop summer employment opportunities.
- Facilitate connections between student job seekers and local hiring businesses
- Work closely with Tillsonburg Youth Attraction and Business Retention Partnership Project to further develop partnerships for youth initiatives in the community
- Work in partnership with Intake and Referral Admin to ensure program continuity
- Collect and maintain statistics
- Perform marketing and outreach activities to promote services and attract students and employers (local high schools, colleges, community events, etc)
- Respect and protect the rights of clients, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and their right to live free from retaliation, discrimination, and abuse
- Other duties as assigned or as the position evolves.

**What you bring**:

- Working toward University or College Degree in social services or suitable equivalent is an asset.
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Data entry, Internet)
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and team building skills.
- Familiarity with the MSC’s services and geographical service delivery area.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer satisfaction skills
- Diplomatic and tactful conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities
- Adherence to confidentiality and professional code of conduct
- Excellent communication abilities
