**About Us**:
The BC Early Childhood Pedagogies Network (ECPN) is a public forum for the advancement of early childhood pedagogies and the establishment of an accessible provincial network of pedagogists to support early childhood educators in British Columbia.
**Responsibilities**:
- Under the supervision of the ECPN Co-Directors and Project Manager, the Administrative Assistant will coordinate the day-to-day administrative tasks of the ECPN related to financial, human and physical resources. The role will serve as a point of contact for administration and will assist in the preparation of reports for stakeholders in accordance with all Western and funding agency policies, procedures and guidelines. The Administrative Assistant will support the ECPN team by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, organizing files, and preparing necessary documentation as required.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- 2 year community college diploma in Business Management/Administration or related field
**Experience**:
- 2 years experience providing financial, human resources and administrative support in a business office setting
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Knowledge of financial and human resources principles and legislation
- Familiarity with Western policies and guidelines related to finances, human resources and grant administration preferred
- Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Ability to demonstrate patience and focus to complete detailed administrative tasks
- Ability to establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Ability to summarize information and disseminate to others effectively in a timely manner
- Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
- Competency to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion
- Critical thinking skills to analyze problems, and collect information required to make an accurate conclusion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to prepare communications, financial reports, and input departmental data into spreadsheets and databases
