We are looking for a go-getter Carrier Sales Representative. As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in the achievement of sales targets and growth. You will facilitate the achievement of these goals by building lasting carrier relationships with our current and new partner carriers, negotiating fair but competitive rates, and managing the loads you book from pickup to delivery.

Not only is your role vital to the success of our carrier relationships and execution of successful shipments, you will also be a major contributor to the onboarding of new business. You will be working daily with Sales Representatives on costs for Spot market and RFP freight. You will use your knowledge of the industry, negotiating skills, and relationships with partner carriers to secure fair rates that support our client’s budgets and our carrier’s business.

You will be the frontline contact for the carriers you assign to loads and the primary contact for our accounting team in the event of invoicing discrepancies. If a carrier you assign has an issue, you will be responsible for leading the team to resolution and for securing the relationship with the carrier.

**What does a day in the life of a Carrier Sales Representative look like?**

A day in the life of a Carrier Sales Representative could include some or all of the following:

- Building and maintaining relationships with partner carriers
- Proactively looking for opportunities to match our available loads to partner carriers’ capacity schedules
- Negotiating rates with carriers to maximize profitability
- Monitoring trends and changes in the industry and educating your sales team about fluctuations that could impact service and/or rates
- Keeping the sales representative and account manager abreast of any issues related to loads you are responsible for
- Notifying the sales representative of any competitor actions that may be drawing our customer’s business away from ETS
- Dispatching loads
- Proactively identifying potential problems and resolving them before they escalate
- Providing costs for spot, contractual and RFP freight
- Work with the sales and/or account management team on any complications with loads you are responsible for
- Writing client specific SOPs and training back up Carrier Sales Representatives to cover you during vacation and/or other time off
- Work with the accounting team to resolve any carrier payment issues related to invoice discrepancies

You are a multi-tasker, active listener, and excellent communicator with a friendly and confident personality. You love getting to know people and building lasting relationships. You display empathy when dealing with carriers and use emotional intelligence to guide your interactions.

You have been working in carrier sales with a brokerage for at least two years. Through this experience you have developed a deep understanding of the market and have a network of carriers with whom you have great professional relationships.

You are results driven and love to negotiate. Maximizing profits while being fair to your carriers is a challenge you meet with enthusiasm. You are flexible and can adapt to changes in the market or customer demands.

Nothing gets past you. You pay close attention to detail and ask all the right questions to find the answers you are looking for.

When a problem comes your way - you face it head on. You look for creative ways to solve the problem and use the opportunity to learn so you can handle similar issues like a pro the next time.
