
Sales and Event Manager

Focus of this position will be to ensure that the company is achieving growth, meeting sales targets by designing, implementing, and successfully managing strategic sales plans that establish, maintain, and expand the company’s customer base, while retaining and ensuring a strong presence in the market.
This position requires an innovative, self-motivated, creative sales and marketing professional, with a passion, drive, and a ‘hunter’ mentality to drive new and incremental sales to achieve exceptional business results. The Sales and Events Manager must have the ability to develop strong customer relationships.
The Sales and Events Manager must be an excellent communicator and collaborator with all internal and external stakeholders, who inspires team members to deliver desired results and to promote the company’s brand.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Be the project manager for large events.
- Review and administer the sponsorship program.
- Review and administer the functions and event (external and internal).
- Design and implement a strategic business plan with short and long-term sales strategies that expand the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence in the market.
- Set sales quotas and goals, creating sales plans and analyzing data.
- Proactively perform outbound sales finding and bringing clients or cold calling approaches to drive sales.
- Actively perform inbound sales trying to bring the clients or leads to you, through such channels as digital marketing.
- Sales tracking software will be a key engagement tool in organizing contacts, tracking sales, measuring results, providing status reports, and providing key performance indicators.
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
- Determines annual and gross-profit plans by implementing sales strategies, analyzing trends and results.
- Responsible for identifying emerging markets and nurturing existing accounting to maximize revenue for both the property and food and beverage facilities.
- Maintain and aggressively grow sales volume and product mix by monitoring changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
- Understanding the company’s ideal customers and how they relate to our product.
- Promoting the organization and products through various mediums.
- Develops and submits proposals to promote and increase casino revenues to General Manager for approval. Includes an action plan with implementation strategies.
- Train staff on the implementation of sales activities. Inform employees in other departments of sales plans and activities.
- Identify emerging markets and market shares while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
- Attend and participate in management meetings. Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
- Inform and coordinate sales activities with other departments.
- When applicable to the property, hire, train, schedule, reward, and discipline group sales employees to meet and exceed performance standards. Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Work with other departments to execute, develop and promote sales initiatives.
- Review customer comments and respond to complaints where possible. Promote excellent customer service and work with departments to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Operate sales plan within the approved budget.
- Perform other duties, including special projects, as needed, and directed by the General Manager.
- Flexible workweek with availability to work additional hours as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with safety procedures, including the use of required safety equipment. Follow security policies and procedures and reports all violations. Perform duties in compliance with the AGLC.
- All other duties as assigned.
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
During Thoroughbred Racing season, due to increased events and suite rental, this position may require a seasonal coordinator. If deemed necessary, the Sales and Events Manager will oversee the coordinator and be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the coordinator. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employee; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employee, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
