**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Controller and Director of Financial Services, the Manager, Student Revenue and General Accounting is responsible for the coordination and execution of complex projects to both enhance the effectiveness of the department and the University as a whole, identify opportunities for improvements to the universities accounting system processes, reporting and compliance to new regulations.

The incumbent is responsible updating and recommending changes to the financial statements to the Controller and Director of Financial Services in response to new accounting standards and its related impact on the University’s financial system for employee future benefits, student fee revenues, and accounts receivable. The incumbent will provide financial expertise and analyses of complex non-routine new University initiatives to determine feasibility requiring Business Board approval and assist with the related financial reporting implications. This position is also responsible providing financial expertise, analysis and support to senior management on the University’s employee benefit plans including financial statement preparation and budget recommendations.

The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the accounting, collection and refunding of student fees (academic, incidental, ancillary and residence) for the University. The incumbent develops and implements policies and procedures relating to student fee revenue accounting processes on the University’s student and financial information systems including the disbursement of student awards and related tax reporting for student payments and awards. This position is responsible for advising central and divisional student service offices across the University, federated colleges, and Toronto School of Theology to ensure timely and accurate student financial and accounting processes. The incumbent manages the daily operation of the Student Receivables & Accounting office which is responsible for collections; banking; third party sponsor billing; awards disbursement and student refunding; fee revenue, fiscal year-end, and audit; and tax reporting.

**Qualifications Required**:
**EDUCATION**:
University degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completed CPA, CPA CGA, CPA CMA or CPA CA designation is considered an asset.

**EXPERIENCE**:
10 years working experience in some combination of related job experiences (e.g. registrarial offices, student services, education, administration) with progressive levels of responsibility in a senior leadership role financial and student financial roles. At least 5 years of management experience. Good knowledge of university milieu, student and financial information systems (e.g. ROSI) and sound operational, budgetary and human resources management skills in a unionized environment.

**SKILLS**:
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
