Claims Analyst

**Reports To**
CARM Services Manager

**Summary**
This position will process, monitor, and action post-entry correction and adjustment files, and their transactions, with CBSA as requested by Cole branches or clients.

**Job Duties**
- Process CBSA import correction or adjustment requests, primarily via form B2
- Ananlyze requests and declarations for correction methods
- Communicate with colleagues, CBSA and importers to obtain information and appropriate documentation
- Participating in import fee or billing dispute processes
- Monitor file status with CBSA trade offices
- Handling of Detailed Adjustment Statements
- Closing B2 entries including diligent review, confirming transactions, issuing credit, invoicing, imaging.
- Adjusting import entries in programs as appropriate
- Providing technical support for other departments and clients in the interpretation of customs legislation and requirements for B2 amends or refunds.
- Monitor and validate transactions and balances on CBSA's Accounts Receivable Ledger (ARL) Daily Notice and Statement of Account.
- Assisting in CBSA Case files, such as Verifications or Compliance Letters
- Contribute to internal training materials and ongoing process adjustments related to current or future CARM programs
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:
**Education**:

- Must have completed grade 12 Education with continued studies in the industry, recognized training relating to international trade, business, and management.
- Customs Qualification Certificate, Customs Professional License, Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or equivalent is required.
- Post-secondary educational studies in management, consulting, tax, logistics, accounting or international trade would be an asset.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2 years of customs operations experience with basic knowledge in compliance, HS classification and tariff interpretation, FTA understanding, and a broad knowledge of all customs programs relating to import or export.

**Skills**:

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.
- Must be computer literate with a strong background in the use of personal computers, and Microsoft Office Programs.

**Attributes**:

- Ability to work independently and make positive decisions that will benefit both the client and Cole.
