Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Data Analyst to join our team at Acera Benefits, a specialty division of Acera Insurance. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Calgary, AB.

About the Role

The Underwriting Analyst plays a vital role in providing administrative, reporting, and analytical support to enhance decision-making through data utilization from various sources. Key responsibilities include managing renewal email inboxes, organizing client documents, utilizing Acera Benefits Excel tool for data import and analysis, conducting annual renewal analysis for group benefit plans, collaborating with leadership to review and discuss renewal analysis findings, presenting analysis and recommended rate actions to Employee Benefit Consultants, negotiating renewal rates with insurers, preparing client renewal reports, obtaining required reports from carrier sources, analyzing premium and claims experience to identify additional reporting needs, preparing interim reports, and reviewing billing statements monthly to ensure accuracy for completed renewals.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, the ability to work effectively as a team or independently with adaptability to tight and changing priorities and deadlines. You will also need the ability to maximize efficiencies by leveraging technology, tools resources and information, be a self-guided learner who solves problems with real solutions, have working knowledge of insurance document management software, be a skilled user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.), and either have or be willing to obtain the GBA designation within an agreed-upon timeframe.

What We Offer

Acera Benefits offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
