Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Initiatives, the Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies aligned with the district’s objectives and brand identity. This role involves close collaboration with various leadership within the business to support their communication needs and foster a unified business message.

This position is based in either the Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB office.

What You Will Be Working On
- Support in the company culture that encompasses the highest ethical standards and is aligned with the Corporation’s core values.
- Develop and implement communication strategies for both internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with the company's and district’s goals and brand voice.
- Develop and implement engaging district events and meetings such as quarterly town halls, annual general meetings, that are accessible to in person and remote audiences.
- Foster collaborative relationships with business leaders to understand and support their communication needs, facilitating a cohesive organizational narrative.
- Craft tailored messages that resonate with diverse employee groups, enhancing engagement and ensuring clear, consistent information dissemination.
- Monitor communication channels' effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed to improve reach and impact.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all communication inquiries, upholding the organization's reputation through proactive and reactive measures.

Key Performance Indicators
- Brand Awareness: Measuring engagement across internal and external communications to enhance connection with both audiences.
- Brand Sentiment: Shaping our clients’ perception and emotions towards our brand.
- Perception vs Competitors: Assessing and shaping how our brand is viewed compared to our competitors.

What We Are Looking For
- Undergraduate in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent
- 5+ years of work experience preferably in an engineering, design, or construction, or similar industry
- Experience working with senior leadership, including executive management
- Strong research, writing, editing, presenting, and conversational skills with diverse audiences
- Experience developing, implementing and project managing communications and marketing strategies
- Possess a strong understanding of the requirements to succeed in a project-driven environment
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently with mínimal supervision
- Experience with digital and social media is considered a value-add
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think creatively and critically is essential
- Ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adaptable
- A strong work ethic and desire to excel with professional development
- Understands the value of continuous improvement recommending new approaches, methods, or technologies to increase efficiencies
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work activities and objectives
