**Ottawa Shared Services Organization (OSSO)** is seeking a **permanent full time Payroll Specialist** who, under the direction of the Finance Manager, is responsible for completing all payroll tasks on a timely basis. The Payroll Specialist provides excellent payroll services to OSSO customers and ensures all payroll deadlines and legislative reporting requirements are met.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- The minimum educational requirement is a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or a post-secondary degree / diploma / certificate in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a complex payroll function in a finance environment is preferred.

Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for completing all payroll tasks on a timely basis (processing payroll, ensuring staff are paid on time, updating the payroll system, creating and filing ROEs, calculating and filing WSIB, EHT, MSPP, RRSP, Payroll Taxes, etc.) as defined under the Service Level Agreement (SLA). The Payroll Specialist provides excellent payroll services to OSSO customers and ensures all payroll deadlines and legislative reporting requirements are met. The Payroll Specialist completes other required accounting functions and provides recommendations to improve the payroll processes for OSSO customers.

**SKILLS/COMPETENCIES**:

- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage time effectively while staying organized and methodical.
- Experience in non-profit accounting and unionized environment is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel plus a general aptitude for technology.
- Proficiency with computerized accounting software such as Sage 50, QuickBooks, Sage 300.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to pick up new concepts
- Thorough knowledge and experience of full-cycle payroll and benefits administration.
- Highly proficient in payroll software. Experience with ComVida, Quick books and Inclusion is an asset.

**Salary**: $48,100.00-$60,200.00 per year
