**Position purpose**:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Maketing and Communications and as a member of a highly integrated creative and content team, uncovers powerful client insights using the latest digital marketing analytics techniques while demonstrating a deep understanding of digital and social media. Builds and optimizes compelling marketing strategies on a wide range of digital projects. Manages projects by first listening to and gathering all client business requirements, challenges, resources, goals and objectives leading to suitable ideation and solutions. Prepares to recommend a strategic approach and the tools needed to deliver a solid strategic plan aligned to the business and communications needs of the Office of External Relations.

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:
With the goals to raise awareness of the University and amplify the uOttawa brand across all emerging digital platforms, the specialist provides counsel to a variety of clients on a wide range of digital projects; he/she leads and develops strategies while ensuring clients achieve their goals.

By leveraging its expertise in the digital marketing space, as well as analytics and insights, creates integrated strategies that connect digital and social channels and tactics into a seamless client experience. The Strategist understands the client journey and ways digital can be used to support, improve and ultimately accelerate movement through the funnel.

Builds and maintains productive and positive relationships with clients to develop insights and an in-depth understanding of their business, culture and their communications and marketing needs through regular consultations. On an ongoing basis, nurtures these relationships by providing exceptional client service, advice and by demonstrating, through expert counsel and concrete and timely action, the value that such relationships bring in meeting objectives.

Provides guidance and recommendations on how to best marshal client and university resources to activate digital strategies; ensures chosen approaches are data-driven, effective, and efficient and aligned with institutional objectives and the uOttawa brand; ensures that plans are well executed and measured.

Thinking innovatively, constantly identifying new growth opportunities and initiatives. Finds creative ways to do more with less, with a track record of staying on budget.

Measures campaign and digital channel performance and analyzes diverse data sets to deliver strategies and provide recommendations and ideas to clients. Prepares regular progress reports for clients and management while identifying risks, successes, and finally, makes recommendations to improve project reach and return-on-investment.

**What you will bring**:
A University degree in digital media, digital marketing, digital communications, a related field or an equivalent combination of studies and experience.

A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of digital strategies and plans.

Experience using metrics to measure performance of websites, campaigns and digital channels to deliver strategies and provide recommendations.

Advanced knowledge of content management systems (Drupal would be an asset) and tools, especially from a user and content creator perspective.

Advanced knowledge of web development and all aspects of the web design process.

Knowledge of persona development, user journey and segmentations to be used for tactical and strategy roadmap.

Knowledge of various design, web and measurement tools and UX design tools.
