**Position purpose**:
**Reporting to the Program Manager**:
The Intermediate Specialist, Audio Visual Content Production provides the technical expertise required to direct the creation of all video, audio and photography for marketing and communications projects driven by the Outreach Office of the Student Affairs department. The Specialist manages the process from start to finish to ensure the delivery of high quality and effective storytelling that is fully aligned with the University’s image, brand, standards, and content strategy. Advises and recommends to clients the best approach to tell their stories in a captivating manner and with real impact.

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:
Provide the technical and artistic expertise required to direct the creation of all video, audio and photography for marketing and communications projects driven by the Student Affairs Outreach Office and its clients.
Meet with clients and other members of the Outreach Office to assess their mid
- and long-term video, audio and photography needs as well as on a project-by-project basis. This includes setting objectives and goals with the client(s), determining key messages, budgets, timelines, and any other considerations that need to be factored into the production.

**Manage video, podcast, and photography productions**: developing the creative concept; storyboarding; presenting and getting approvals; scripting and arranging for translation; securing and coordinating talent; scheduling, filming, and editing; motion graphics and titling; accessibility compliance; screenings for approval; and final delivery of a product fully aligned with the University’s image, brand, content strategy and standards.
Identify assess, qualify, negotiate, and contract with freelancers and suppliers for audio, video, and photography projects. Build and maintain a preferred list of suppliers to ensure availability of the right supplier for the right projects. Responsible for the output of the freelancer/supplier, oversees their work at every step of production, then evaluates their performance and final product.
Propose new and innovative methods of generating and presenting visual resources with a focus on creativeness, innovation, and superb storytelling.

**What you will bring**:
Professional-level technical knowledge of video, audio and photography production coupled with superb artistic skill and a firm understanding of the principles of visual storytelling normally acquired through a college or university education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

3 years of professional experience as a freelancer or working for an agency in producing and using video and photography in the context of marketing, communications, and branded content.

Demonstrated experience and abilities with using audio, video and/or photography across multiple channels. These could include, but not limited to print, digital, social media, multimedia and outdoor signage.

Knowledge of the principles of digital asset management.

Highly creative with superb visual/audio storytelling skills. A portfolio of past work to be presented.

Direct experience with developing and producing visual/audio assets for marketing and communications projects.

Exceptional ability to prioritize workflow and simultaneously work on several projects with tight deadlines.

Diplomatic with very strong interpersonal, problem-solving and collaboration skills and a dedication to excellent client and supplier relations.

Excellent first language skills in either French or English, and good comprehension and speaking
