**About Us**:
**Role**:
Reporting to the Recreation and Resource Management Team Lead, this technical position is responsible for operational delivery of Parks recreation focused dispositions in Central Region, which may include recreation and commercial activities, bed and shore, and riparian activities on all parks division lands within an assigned area. In addition, this position will contribute to regular referrals on industrial dispositions, tourism proposals, and adjacent land use plans that affect Parks lands.

Key responsibilities include the ability to:

- Administer, inspect, and monitor recreational dispositions and activities as related to the Provincial Parks Act, and Wilderness Areas Ecological Reserves Natural Areas and Heritage Rangelands Act.
- Deliver extension services to meet applicant/client needs on all aspects of Parks land management.
- Provide input into land management and operational policy and program development.
- Interpret Park management plans, and other guidance documents to develop recommendations for the best use of Parks land.
- Integrate decisions to facilitate conservation of parks lands for the enjoyment of present and future generations of Albertans.
- Assist other Divisions and agencies with program delivery as required.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:

- Two-year diploma plus 4 years related experience in natural resources management, biology, ecology, agriculture, forestry or other related natural sciences.

**Equivalency**:Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of:

- one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

**Assets**:

- Experience in land use management for a wide range of commercial, tourism and recreation-based land users.
- Experience in spatial and other database systems such as GLIMPS, ArcGIS.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in working with relevant legislation such as (a) Provincial Parks Act, (b) Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Natural Areas and Heritage Rangelands Act, (c) Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, (d) Public Lands Act, (d) Historic Resources Act, etc.
- Considerable investigative, compliance monitoring and management, analytical, negotiation and conflict management skills are required to effectively deal with a wide variety of clients and stakeholders to ensure program goals and objectives are adequately addressed.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of equipment commonly used for field investigation (Off-highway vehicles, boats, Global Positioning Systems, cameras, etc.)
- Capability for public speaking; ability to navigate high-volume, fast-paced workloads; capacity to manage tight and coinciding timelines

**Salary**:
$2,568.72 to $3,304.72 bi-weekly ($67,043 - $86,253/year)
