**Human Resources Coordinator**

**(full-time permanent position)**

**Location: Guelph, Ontario**

**GM Blue**Plan** Engineering Limited **is a dynamic consulting firm providing niche skills in land development, municipal infrastructure planning, asset management, design and construction. Built on robust municipal, environmental, land development and structural engineering services, our team of professionals throughout Ontario, have a strong legacy of providing sound technical advice and innovative solutions for our private and public sector clients.

We are a growing company. We need enhanced Human Resources to support our long term plan. The firm is comprised of seven offices and over 220 full-time staff within southern Ontario. As the Human Resources Coordinator, you will be a key part of nurturing and strengthening our organizational culture while demonstrating our core values. You provide support and coordination with the day-to-day HR functions and work collaboratively with leadership and employees to promote a culture that supports the GM BluePlan Engineering core values. You will support areas including orientation and onboarding, talent management, employee engagement and retention, training and development, wellness, and health and safety.

This opportunity is a unique opportunity to work with senior engineering staff and an internal/external HR management team to familiarize themselves with the operating environment of the company, history of practices and understand the desired direction of the company. There is an opportunity for growth within this role as GM BluePlan Engineering continues to grow and therefore the HR team continues to evolve and grow to support the team.

**Business Partnership**:

- Support the leadership team in developing a culture that embraces diversity, inclusion and respect in the workplace
- Design and implement employment policies, identifying methods to improve procedures in alignment with operational best practice and legislative requirements
- Provide information to employees with regards to employee safety, welfare, health and wellness, group health benefits, performance management
- Conduct exit interview and track annual data and statistics to assist with change management
- Conduct employee surveys: assessing and monitoring change management and align strategies with the GM BluePlan Engineering Limited's overall vision and goals
- Assist with employee group health benefits administration and renewal discussions
- Maintain confidential employee personnel records and documentation

**Recruitment and Onboarding**:

- Engage in the hiring processes, coordinating requirements for various roles with leadership team
- Prepare offer letters and employment agreements
- Facilitate employee orientation processes in support of onboarding success of new hires

**Performance Management/Succession Planning**:

- Ensure performance reviews are conducted on a consistent basis
- Evaluate job requirements and expectations, managing performance standards through defined job descriptions; create succession plans with employees as deemed appropriate
- Identify, evaluate and resolve employee relations issues that foster collaboration and improved performance

**Training and Development**:

- Coordinate training to new personnel, and annual training for all staff including mandatory training required by MOL and other training material

**What you will need**:

- A post-secondary diploma/degree specializing in human resources or equivalent and completion or in pursuit of the Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a generalized Human Resources role with demonstrated experience in full cycle recruitment
- Working knowledge of all current HR and employment legislation
- Excellent software skills - Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to develop and foster positive relationships all levels of the organization
- High level of accuracy and the ability to be diplomatic, professional and maintain confidential information
