The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) employs approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington and the City of Guelph. The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a mature student or new graduate of a Human Resources program for the position of Intern
- Human Resources. Reporting directly to the HR Services Team Manager, this role will be responsible for assisting the HR department with a variety of duties that support the critical functions of Human Resources. During your time at the UGDSB you will gain exposure to a wide range of HR projects in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is a temporary position (35 hours per week)

**LOCATION**:Guelph Board Office**:

- **500 Victoria Road N, Guelph, ON

**RATE OF PAY**:$18.50/hour

**TERM**: May - August, 2023 (with the possibility of extension)

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Assist with the coordination and execution of training via multiple mediums (synchronous & asynchronous).
- Assist with preparation and standardization of interview guides, offers of employment and onboarding materials.
- Documenting processes and developing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist with collecting and analyzing data including; pension and benefit information.
- Assist with development of processes for HR related projects and initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Eligible to work for the Summer Term (May to August 2023)
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Human Resources/Business Management program with an interest in all aspects of the human resources portfolio
- Approximately 1 year of Human Resources experience (preference will be given to those with experience in unionized environments)
- Excellent computer skills and strong attention to detail with limited supervision
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel/Word); working knowledge of Google based products is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide professional service to staff, and the Human Resources Department
- A strong work ethic and sense of commitment. Personable and reliable with a willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with a Human Resources database would be an asset
