**Role**:
Reporting to the Director, Apprenticeship Delivery and Industry Support Services, the Industry & Program Support Specialist is a key individual within the unit.

The role supervises and participates in the activities of a unit charged with delivering support in the development and maintenance of apprenticeship and education standards and engages with internal and external stakeholders to address matters related to trade certification such as concerns pertaining to interpretation of regulation and their impacts on identifying who can do specific work on a jobsite.

As a result of this focus of work, the unit also manages some internal and external communication with stakeholders and drives enhanced research and analysis of various topics. This creates an environment of shifting priorities which necessitates managing specialized human capital and resourcing new projects as they come up.

The team supervised by this position provides support to both regular activities of the team and project-based activities within the unit and branch as necessary.

Some key responsibilities include:

- Managing the process of authorizations and other exceptions to trade certification requirements.
- Developing recommendations and options on strategies, positions and issues related to the unit
- Program Administration
- Identifying and leading opportunities for operational process improvements
- Supporting the Executive Director, Apprenticeship Delivery and Support Services, as necessary

**Qualifications**:
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education, the humanities, business or related field of study plus 4 years of progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered based on:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship program is also preferred.

The following knowledge or experiences will be considered as assets:

- Knowledge of the sector and division organizational structure, mandate, and programs - including familiarity with apprenticeship and industry training programs and postsecondary institute partners

**Salary**:
$2,716.64- $ 3,550.90 bi-weekly ($70,904.30- $92,678.49/year)

There is one permanent position available. This position is 36.25 hours per week, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm Monday
- Friday.
