Position Overview:


As an Industry Support Specialist, you will lead an equipment industry sales strategy with responsibility for the sales performance of all key products/solutions used in a specific industry.

The role will lead the development and deployment of a holistic industry-focused strategy to grow market share, using customized solutions that fit the customers that operate within that industry.

This role will be the key contact working with senior leaders across Sales, Service, Supply Chain, Pricing and Marketing to ensure our products and services are both commercially and operationally viable as they penetrate a specific industry.


The role will have accountability to ensure Finning works closely with its customer base to provide equipment sales solutions that enable top-line revenue growth, increased market share and meet profitability targets.

This position will provide strategic and tactical support to the sales execution team as well as be a critical liaison for the Caterpillar CI team.


Job Description:

  • Provide strategic leadership for equipment sales execution across Construction Industries while working with leaders from other functional departments (Supply Chain, Service, Operations, Sales, Pricing & Marketing) to ensure strategic objectives have alignment across the business and are executed effectively.
  • Alignment with external partners (Caterpillar, Weiler, Allied and other key suppliers) is essential in this role as proper vendor management is critical to success.
  • Product Application and using the right machine for the right job is critical to the success of customer industries.
  • Sound knowledge of products and services related to the assigned industry, participation in key associations, and strategic support targeted key customer opportunities are critical to the success of this role.
  • The industry specialist role is a key stakeholder in the longterm industry forecast, market share projections and Finning's sales performance for each respective product.

Education & Experience:

  • 510 years of industry experience with demonstrated ability to direct and motivate team.
  • 5+ years of direct experience with leading commercial teams.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous sales experience in equipment sales.
  • Exceptional Leadership skills.
  • Undergraduate Commerce degree or equivalent.
  • Industry certification or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate results in marketing or sales operations, understanding deeply how to capture the attention of internal sales teams and external channel partners and customers.
  • Expert persuasion skills and the ability to captivate a room when delivering presentations and product demonstrations regardless of the seniority of the audience.
