**Parts/Service Advisor **provides support to both our parts and service departments in an effective and efficient manner. This role will report directly to the Parts Manager and will be an afternoon shift.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Generates profit by selling product and services; promotes repeat business.
- Other related duties as assigned by management from time to time
**Parts Advisor Responsibilities**
- Maintain clean work areas and keep well stocked showroom
- Set up orders for daily shipment in, delivery, or pick-up.
- Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts.
- Inspect and move cores to proper location, take warranty parts to holding room
- Take payment for cash orders
- Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
- Participate and keep current on new products, product updates and all training programs that are made available.
- Participate in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
- Conduct inventory cycle counts
- Responsible for locking up facility upon exit
- Cross trained as a Service Advisor.
**Service Advisor Responsibilities**:
- Answers the telephone and / or customers, including our own technicians. Determine customer requirements and entering order information correctly into the computerized parts / service order system.
- Ascertains problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
- Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labour; calculating customer’s payment, including deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
- Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
- Maintains records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
**Basic Qualifications**
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
- Previous Dealership experience is an asset.
- SAP Experience is an asset.
- Competency in the following areas: customer experience, administrative skills, time management, proficiency with computers; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
