**Position Summary**:
The Centre for Public Safety and Well-Being (CPSW) is Centre within the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences. The Centre offers exciting learning opportunities through professional development programs for people working or aspiring to work in a wide range of industries, including public safety, health, and wellness and well-being.

As a key member of the CPSW team, the Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the efficient running of in-person workshops and courses related to the Mental Health Crisis Response Education and Applied training program (MHCR). The position requires solid demonstrated experience in coordination of people and locations, as well as establishing and maintaining positive relationships in all areas. An in-depth understanding of educating police services would be ideal.

Under the leadership of the Senior Administrative Officer, FHSS, the Administrative Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all details regarding in-person workshops, including booking facilities, scheduling instructors, shipping required equipment and maintaining a roster of qualified instructors. The Administrative Coordinator will work within the MHCR team and exercise judgement and discretion in the organization and performance of duties. The incumbent will have a combination of strong administrative and coordination skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.

The MHCR is a hybrid, scenario-based curriculum that offers an evidence-based, standardized training protocol on de-escalation and mental health crisis response for police services, with the objective to further develop de-escalation and communication strategies, mental health awareness, empathy, and cultural safety for police response to citizens in a mental health crisis. As of April 1, 2024, the Ministry of the Solicitor General has mandated that all police officers in Ontario complete this training annually in compliance with Ontario Regulation 87/24 and MHCR is mandatory as part of the basic constable training course at the Ontario Police College.

**Accountabilities**:
**Program Coordination**
- Develop and manage processes to ensure that assigned projects and their communication run smoothly
- Oversees all details regarding in-person presentation of courses and workshops, such as facility set up and material preparation
- Responsible for logístical aspects of MHCR workshops and courses held in various locations across Ontario
- Responsible for checking, packing and shipping of VR equipment
- Provides direction, support and feedback to instructors who teach in MHCR programming
- Schedules and organizes instructors, sends and receives agreements and coordinates payments
- Assists with facilitation of special events and other activities
- Check and maintain VR equipment
- Manage warranty claims related to VR equipment
- Liaise with Ontario Police College and police services to schedule appropriate training locations ensuring the capacity and capabilities of venues

**Communication and Customer Service**
- Establishes positive relationships with police services, community partners, project partners and other various internal and external stakeholders to efficiently meet event requirements
