The Company:
We are Toronto’s top butcher shop. We work exclusively with small, family run farms to ensure the best products for our shop. All of our animals are raised in healthy and humane environments. They are born and bred with the closest care and attention. Our premiere beef is predominantly Angus bloodline; our Wagyu line is a combination of full blood and purebred Fuutsuru and Michifuku bloodlines. Our lambs are Dorsets and Texels, chickens are Ross, turkeys are Big Whites and pigs are Yorkshire Durocs and Heritage Berkshires - all raised in Ontario and Quebec and processed at small abattoirs. As well as offering fresh foods, we also offer an extensive range of high-quality dishes and meals prepared freshly in-house.
We are looking for a full-time cook who is knowledgeable and skilled in their profession and who is committed to upholding our high levels of quality and customer service.
- Prepare and cook complete meals, as instructed by head chef
- Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods, as instructed by head chef
- Assist to plan menus and determine size of food portions,
- Ensure food storage conditions are maintained
- Manage inventory, keep records of sales and determine amount, product line and
freshness of products according to company and customer requirements
- Adhere to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Canadian Food
Inspection Agency (CFIA) and food safety standards
Employment requirements
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a cook is required.
- Secondary school
- Must be able to communicate in English (spoken and written)
- Must be confident using heavy machinery and sharp tools.
- Must be able to work full time (8 hours a day) with occasional 10-hour days
