International Student Program Facilitator

**Purpose**:
The incumbent works as a member of a team, reporting to the Coordinator, International Student Programs, delivering services and programs for international, degree-seeking students and programs that support the internationalization strategy of York International, enhancing the experience of all York students, as well as the wider community both internal and external to the University.

**Education**:
Completion of a university degree or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within thelast five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
2 years related experience in facilitating and developing international programs and student advisingon immigration, social, personal and settlement issues, preferably in an academic environment.

**Skills**:

- Word processing 50 wpm, accuracy essential
- Advanced level MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience using general database maintenance experience. e.g., databases created using Excel
- internet search skills
- monitoring budgets, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling cost centres
- organizing and evaluating large and small programs and events

Demonstrated
- Dealing courteously and effectively with a diverse group of people
- Exercising tact and diplomacy
- Attending accurately to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Ability to work effectively under pressure of high volume and meet deadlines
- Excellent written communications skills
- Use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Exercise good judgment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide and obtaininformation in a courteous and clear manner with clear diction
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Must be punctual and reliable.
