**Your Position & How You Will Contribute**:
Based in Stouffville - Reporting to the Director of People Operations, the Human Resources Specialist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping the team to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, compensation, benefits and more. We understand that our business thrives when our personnel thrive, and that starts by hiring the right HR professionals. You will be supporting various HR projects as we expand our business operations from our HQ, ensuring projects are completed on time and according to budget. In this position you will be participating in a variety of human resources responsibilities and activities. **Responsibilities & Key Duties include**:
**Recruitment Support**:

- Collaborate to develop effective recruitment strategies
- Managing various recruitment portals to ensure maximization of use
- Schedule interviews for various stakeholders and ensure communications to all parties are clear and concise
- Coordinate background checks and reference checks for potential hires.

**Employee Onboarding**:

- Ensure onboarding process is initiated and background checks are completed
- Complete reference checks following appropriate processes
- Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
- Conduct orientation sessions for new hires
- Ensure to set up new employee profiles in HR systems
- Administer HR transactions (exits, new hires, transfers, promotions) in accordance with HR process
- Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary

**HR Administration**:

- Help to manage and maintain the HR shared drive, employee personnel records and other HRIS systems
- Prepare reports related to HR metrics and analytics to update HR and ledership teams when needed
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives
- Demonstrate pro-activeness in identifying solutions to simplify, automate and improve processes, HR initiatives, policies etc.
- Research and assist in the development of policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines, and ensures all of them are up to date in line with current employment legislation
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs
- Provide backup for payroll including; bi-weekly and semi-monthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, tracking vacation/sick pay, importing expense reimbursements, inputting exceptions, and benefit changes
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies
- Coordinate and plan events including but not limited to social committee and celebrations
- Review and manage incoming and outgoing mail where needed
- Assist in the development of training and development programs based on company and departmental needs
- Participate in various committees (JHSC, DEI etc.)

**Employee Relations**:

- Provide advice, guidance and assistance to management and employees regarding the interpretation of Company policies
- Process complaints regarding complaints, grievances and or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions
- Monitor employee morale and company culture in-office to ensure continuous improvement of environment

**Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with federal employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with audits and compliance reporting as needed.

**Attributes**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
- Understanding of employment regulations including but not limited to OSHA regulations and compliance
- Strong relationship building, judgment skills, problem solving and follow-up skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent ability to prioritized and follow through in commitments
- Familiar with and or used ATS system(s)
- Superior level planning and organizing skills, capable of seeing the big picture, understanding system pressures and planning at a detailed level
- Able to tailor your communication style to meet the needs of a variety of audiences, and achieve the desired result
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Training and Development
- Comfortable learning new technical systems as needed

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or
