**Shareholder Relations Specialist**

Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 15

Annual salary: $ 107,000.00 - 135,300.00

**What you'll do**
- Reporting to the Director, Shareholder Relations, this is an cross-cutting role that provides the opportunity to work
collaboratively with various business groups across the company to advance key policy priorities, and facilitate
communication with government..
- Enhances BC Hydro’s proactive, coordinated approach in advancing shared key organizational priorities with the

provincial government.
- Strengthens BC Hydro's ability to coordinate with government on priority issues and builds on our existing capability to

support and respond.
- Prepares internal and external briefing and other materials that provide clear and concise information on complex policy

issues in an easily understandable way.
- Responsively retrieves and prepares information requested by the provincial government.
- Monitors, analyzes and reports on key trends impacting the energy utilities sector, as well as policy and legislation

impacting BC Hydro.
- Prepares briefing materials for key government activities, including the Estimates Debate and all other required regular

reporting to government.
- Confidentially manages sensitive material from the business groups and from the provincial government.
- Coordinates key meetings between BCH and the provincial government.
- Leads the development of the Annual Service Plan Report and Service Plan and supporting materials, working

collaboratively with government staff and BC Hydro business groups.

**What you bring**
- A university degree in a related discipline such as political science, public policy, communications, economics, or energy.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant policy and/or communications experience in a highly collaborative, deadline
- driven environment.
- Recent and relevant experience working with public sector employees is an asset.
- Experience with preparing briefing materials including conducting independent analysis of factors that impact corporate

and/or public policy.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve business plan objectives through work with stakeholders within a government or public

sector organization.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, including taking complex and technical information and transforming it

into clear summary points and recommendations.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort presenting briefing materials to senior government representatives and/or

executives.
