**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Works collaboratively with the Hospital's clinical and business areas in documenting, defining and analyzing processes of workflows related to new or existing information technology solutions
- Together with other stakeholders identifies opportunities for improving information management processes, evaluation of requests for system improvements and determines feasibility and advisability of system changes
- Identifies user requirements and prepare business and technical specifications; and where indicated translates requirements, specifications and rules into technical solutions
- Review system requirements and system design documents to ensure accuracy of system
- Continues to enhance and improve patient care by utilizing relationship management techniques with clinical areas, participating in committees, attending education workshops and seminars
- Creates or participates in the development of project management documentation and other duties as assigned to ensure project success
- Supports the development and implementation of downtime processes and procedures
- Shares on-call duties with other members of the informatics team during business and non-business hours
- Performs other position related duties as required
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Health Science, Health Informatics, Business or Computer Science from an accredited educational institution
- 10+ years of related experience required with 1 year in the health care environment preferred
- Knowledge of clinical processes and experience in health care environment is required
- Extensive experience in custom SQL/CCL programming and report development
- Must have knowledge and ability to design, build, execute and maintain Cerner Millenniums core functionality including an advanced knowledge of event set hierarchy and results integration
- Hands-on experience in clinical and/or non-clinical workflow and process redesign
- Strong understanding of HL7 protocol, system integration and ESI/ESO troubleshooting
- Proven proficiency in MPage Development and Smart Template design and programming
- Solid understanding of HTML and xHTML programming to develop custom Dynamic Documentation templates
- Detailed knowledge of business systems and processes
- Knowledge of or work experience with Cerner’s Documentation suite, including PowerForms, iView and Event Set Hierarchy is an asset
- Applicants with proven recent and related training and experience may be considered
- Sound knowledge of Inpatient and Outpatient systems and processes
- Ability to manage medium size projects including task identification and team resource management
- Sound knowledge and experience in systems analysis and design, including all phases of the SDLC
- Experience in the design and execution of data conversion/porting activities is required
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to establish and build effective working relationships, functioning both independently as well as part of a team
- Experience working with change control procedures
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) with demonstrated attention to detail
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Strong leadership and coaching qualities with the ability to engage, motivate and lead small to large teams, resolve team conflicts and work collaboratively to achieve overarching project goals
- Results oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to lead medium sized teams and to resolve team conflicts
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record
