**HOURLY RATE**: $15.50

**AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
Reporting to the Manager, Government Relation and Public Liaison, provides program and administrative support to the Corporate project - Policy & Liaison team, assisting in day-to-day duties. Supports the effective delivery of services and responds to general inquiries received by the section. This role will support the government relations team in preparing reports, presentations, policy guides and templates and supports the coordination and tracking of policy.
- Respond to customer inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services, and escalates to appropriate City staff as required
- Assist and collaborate on sectional programs and special projects
- Provide administrative support including physical and electronic filing, preparing memos and formatting reports
- Maintain records, documentation, and prepare reports as required
- Process online forms and provide support on sectional workflow procedures
- Assist with data entry and tracking, and maintain data integrity
- Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
- Understand and adhere to Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards
- Attend meetings/training as required
- Work well within diverse groups in support of operational goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate corporate values at all times.
- Participate as a member of cross-functional team.
- Provide support/backup as necessary.

**SELECTION CRITERIA**:
**EDUCATION**:

- Working towards a degree or diploma in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, Law or equivalent or a similar discipline, or have a related experience or interest.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**:

- Demonstrated working knowledge of corporate policy specific principles

**OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS**:

- Effective customer service skills and communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- **Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton._
- **Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria._
