**Role**:
The Ministry of Education has this exciting opportunity for the Digital Engagement Lead within the Strategic Engagement Branch.

The Digital Engagement Lead reports to the Manager, Engagement. This position ensures that internal and external stakeholder digital engagements are successful through the day-to-day operation of the FilmLab. This position has extensive knowledge and practical experience in the design and delivery of digital services and products such as video, graphic design, filming, editing, audio recording, webinar production, virtual events and meetings, hardware and software expertise, and project management. The Digital Engagement Lead works with a large degree of independence.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote and facilitate a strategic mindset towards the utilization of technologies and digital products to support internal and external engagement within the ministry and across the Government of Alberta.
- Lead and support the design, development and delivery of digital products and solutions for the ministry and Government of Alberta that facilitate effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support management team in achieving the Strategic Engagement Branch mandate and goals by maintaining effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure management team is aware of critical issues and has appropriate information to make decisions, particularly in relation to branch strategic plans.
- Collaborate with ministry and government staff to determine the most effective modalities in digital engagement design and delivery.
- Provide expertise, advice and consultation services to department and government staff regarding technology and products that facilitate effective digital engagement.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a related field (Visual Communications, Multimedia), plus 4 years of related experience or equivalent as described below.

**Equivalency**

Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

**Assets**:

- At least 10 years of experience in digital media. Required proficiency in three or more areas of technologies and computer design software used by professionals: Tricaster, Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams, video cameras, audio systems, lighting systems.
- Experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro).
- Video encoding and various encoding software (Compressor, Handbrake, Adobe Media Encoder, etc.).
- Digital video closed captioning and sub-titling methods.
- Writing, storyboarding, and directing.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
