Communications and Public Engagement (CPE) is the Government of Alberta’s full-service communications, public relations and marketing agency.
CPE provides planning, execution and measurement of communications efforts. Its expert staff provide specialized services across the spectrum of communications and marketing from research, design, writing and social media, to event coordination, issues management, digital communications, advertising and public consultation.

The agency staffs the external communications functions in all departments of government and its operations branch, with a mandate of enhancing communications between the people and the Government of Alberta.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Public Engagement, your role as the Public Engagement Specialist will provide leadership to manage the digital engagement platform, support Ministries’ public engagement projects, and provide support for various ministries’ public and stakeholder engagement projects.

Your key duties would include:

- Providing leadership to a whole-of-government digital public engagement platform for the GoA.
- Providing an understanding of government priorities and the impact they have on engagement activity.
- Providing consultation, analysis, facilitation and project management services to support the planning and delivery of public and stakeholder engagement activities for program areas.
- Providing strategic advice to GoA Ministries and support whole-of-government capacity.
- Facilitate the review of the engagement planning process for GoA Ministries, including outcome and objective setting, technique selection, stakeholder mapping, risk assessment, data analysis and evaluation.

**Qualifications**:
Degree in a related field such as **communications, public relations, journalism, public engagement, English, social science, humanities**, or a related field plus four years of directly related communications experience.

Equivalencies to be considered as below:

- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; OR 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Assets:
- Experience project management.
- Experience in media relations..lic Participation (IAP2) experience.
- Excellent political acumen.
- Experience with systems work including building processes and tools for use in large organizations.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in public engagement, including survey design and techniques.
- Familiarity with trends, issues, and best practices in public engagement.
- Familiarity with public engagement and consultation contractors, and the procurement process.

**Salary**:
$2,716.64 to $3,550.9 bi-weekly ($70,904 to $92,678/yearly)
